Hope made his way down the hallway. Class just started so he had the hallway mostly to himself, besides a few stragglers who were already late for class. He thought about going, but he just wasn't in the mood today. He was usually anti-social, but with having to deal with the large crowd at the tournament registry, he didn't want to have to deal with people at all. He made his way into his favorite stairwell and found him a nice spot to relax in. Usually no one came through stairway, it was out of the way, so it made it perfect for him to get away occasionally when he needed to. He lit up a cigarette, and layed his head against the wall.

Mizchno was running an errand for a teacher, so he would be able to get out of class. His mission would lead him to the stairwell that no one uses.He was kinda nervous about going to broken down crappy stairway that's probably older than most of the faculty there. For all he knew he could be dangerous, but he needed to get out of class for the time being. As he was making his way towards the stairway half his attention was focused on the book he was reading and half was actually focused on where he was going.
He took his first step down the stairwell making a small splashing sound on the abandoned step. As he slowly made his way down the stairwell he smelled smoke, but it wasn't a normal smoke, it was second hand smoke. He decided to approach the delinquent startling all the rats in the area.

Hope looked as some guy came into his stairway. Sure enough, the guy came right up to him. So much for not being bothered today. "Hey how's it going guy" Hope said sounding enthusiastic, "Haven't seen you around here before, names Hope." It was hard for him to be so friendly to people when he was automatically annoyed by their presence. "What you doing back here? Usually no one comes through here."

Mizchno noticed how the guy that was just breaking the rules was being so nice to him. He introduced himself as Hope and it only would be common courtesy to be just as nice back." I'm just running a weird errand for a teacher, by the way the name is Mizchno" He said, as he extended his hand for a hand shake." Now why are you here?"

Hope already regretted speaking to him. Maybe if he would have just kept his mouth shut the guy would have just left. Hope halfway tuned out when the guy was introducing himself, it's not like Hope really cared, but he was sure to keep a friendly face non the less. Than the guy asked what Hope was doing here, which mildly pissed off Hope off even more, this was his self proclaimed stairway! "Oh you know, I was nervous with the tournament coming up, Came down here to work on my deck." Hope quickly lied while pulling out his deck. "Yea I know it must look pretty bad, but I was just kinda nervous and wanted to be prepared ya know."

Mizchno wondered what type of deck he used which tempted him to engage in a duel. He wanted to know what type of cards he would use in the tournament, so instead of turning him into the principal he would offer a duel." You know what would make you feel better? A duel!"He said, putting his book into his back pocket.

Well at least this wasn't a total waste of time. Hope could put up with this guy if he got a duel out of it. He smiled at him, "Yea sounds good" he said energetically while readying his duel disc.

Mizchno nodded his head and stepped back so there could be a good distance for them to duel. His intentions weren't exactly pure anyway.

"Well congrats you beat me." He lit up another cigarette, it always helped after a loss. "I'm sure we'll meet in the tournament, until than huh." He told him while walking out of the school. He thought it better to go ahead and bail before it got anymore friendly. At least now he knew one of the decks he might have been going up against in the tournament.
